O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

The psalmist would also say, "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it".

Today is the day set aside to worship God for His gift of love displayed in The Lord Jesus Christ, and the work that took place upon the cross at Calvary.

We should enter His presence with a portion of worship, we should be prepared and focused with a strong desire to bow down in God's presence and give Him thanks for all He is and has done. Each day is a blessing and a gift from God. The Lord's day is a blessed day to dedicate to Him. Our hearts should be filled with thankfulness, with praise, as was the psalmist. We should sing to the Lord, we should pray, exalt and magnify Him. We give Him thanks that His love is from everlasting to everlasting, that our sins and inquities He remembers no more. We serve a great, living, glorious God. Our hearts should be overflowing with a desire to praise Him. In obedience we take part in the ceremonial feast that the Lord Jesus ordained. We can be filled with joy as we gather in His presence and start a new week in the knowledge, assurance and hope we have in Him. Like the two on the road to Emmaus, after spending time in Jesus' presence, our hearts should convict us to then go and tell others about the good news of salvation and that His love is to all people.
